National Security Threat Level - Severe

Martyn's Law is here, are you ready?

Martyn’s Law, more formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, places a clear legal duty on venues to protect people from the risk of terrorist incidents. It requires organisations to understand their vulnerabilities, put practical safety procedures in place, and ensure staff are trained to respond effectively in an emergency. For venues such as hotels, event spaces, and public buildings, this is more than compliance — it is a fundamental duty of care to guests, visitors, and staff. The legislation was introduced following the 2017 Manchester Arena attack and is named in memory of Martyn Hett, one of the victims. It reflects a national commitment to ensure that lessons have been learned, embedding preparedness, awareness, and responsibility into everyday operations across publicly accessible venues.
